ReadabilityWelcome
Welcome to the Boulder Writers Virtual Circle! This site is for active members of the Boulder Writers’ Circle to share their pieces created from writing prompts, previous essays, short stories, poems, and works in progress. Please remember this is a place of experimentation with voice, style and language, so only positive comments are invited. This website offers the opportunity to read quietly or out loud, in order to hear, taste and feel the words, see the images and vignettes created in your mind’s eye, and be inspired by the musings of fellow writers. Members may choose to click on an Author to see the collection of their works or click on a genre to view poetry, essays, short stories, musings, etc., written by the BWC members.
The Boulder Writers’ Circle is facilitated by Laura Whittemore, a published author and Writing Coach. It is a meeting place for writers, published authors, journalists, aspiring authors, and poets to expand the creative art of painting images with words. Most of all, it is a community of like minded wordsmiths supporting each other with positive feedback. Tips on improving the writing process are offered with writing prompts to share in the joy of writing and to develop a discipline to keep the momentum going.
If you are interested in becoming an active member of this writing community, and posting your works on this site, please contact Laura Whittemore with our Contact Form and/or visit our BWC MeetUp Web Site to join and for current schedule information.

Early morning hues
Layer across the horizon
What a blessing to join each day

Carved boldly
As though scraped with a chisel
Forming a dark solid base
Cold contrast
Seeping…

There is a place
Where motion never stops
Where water meets the sand
As it rises from the sea
A mysterious edge of life
That always exists, and yet
Is constantly moving, changing
Redefining itself
In every moment

“What do you mean?” I answered indignantly.
“Oh,…

To chase the heat and dry away
From the core of each and every day.

It was so long ago, that time when we first saw the light.
It was a spark you saw and a spark I saw, bright
Yet not blinding.

Have you ever seen a Jackson Pollock?
It inspires.
I look and I say, I can do that.
